Latina Community Health Specialist

Are you passionate about eliminating health disparities?  We need a Latina Community Health Specialist to provide assistance to our Tobacco Education and Prevention Partnership (TEPP) in a pilot project aimed at reducing exposure to second-hand smoke. You must be proficient in Spanish and feel comfortable working with staff in beauty salons.  Help with collection of data, report updates, and provide assistance in the evaluation of the pilot project to TEPP program staff."

If you are interested in the volunteer positions, please contact Donna Koehler at dkoehler@bouldercounty.org or 303-441-1163.

Create Better Immigrant Relations - Be a Facilitator and Work for Change!!

Controversial and sometimes emotional issues are all on the table at Dialogues on Immigrant Integration. In this program, Dialogue groups meet throughout Boulder County to discuss hot topics about immigrants and the issues they face.  Be a member of a two-person co-facilitator team and make a difference in your community!! Quality of the outcomes are often due to YOUR skills as a facilitator.

You will be trained to facilitate the groups.

Dialogue groups usually meet Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm.  If you'd like to help, please contact Leslie Irwin at 303-443-0419 Ext 117 or leslie@immigrant-integration.org

Join us and help bring light and air to this issue!

This effort is sponsored in part by the Boulder County Community Services Department

Tutor/Mentor at Casa de la Esperanza Academic Center

Casa de la Esperanza, a family farm worker site in South Longmont, has volunteer openings for people who can come for a couple of hours a week to assist young students with homework. This dynamic after-school program just may be a good fit for you! Computer lab is open for after-school hours. Volunteers are welcomed for whatever time you can give between 3 and 8 pm. Looking especially for people with computer competencies. Need not speak Spanish, but it would be helpful in this program. Contact Carlota Loya Hernández at cloya@bouldercounty.org or call her at 303-678-6220
