Drive Detox Clients to
AA Meetings
You can be a real help to a recovering Addiction
Recovery Center (ARC) client at Public Health. Drive clients
to and from their local Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings to help
ensure they receive the benefits of attending. You will be
trained by the shift supervisor and staff Detox counselors as to
what is expected of you as a volunteer driver.
A background check is required, along with a current driver's
license and a good driving record, plus evidence of auto insurance.
You will be in an "on-call" list and will be reimbursed for mileage.
What do you get out of this effort?
The TREMENDOUS satisfaction of knowing what a big help you are to
the recovery of another human being working toward wellness.
If you have a history of substance abuse, you must have a
minimum of two full years' abstinence and three full years since
discharge.
