Career Closet Volunteer
Family
Self-Sufficiency (FSS) is a program designed to help low-income
families gain education and job skills in order to improve their
family’s financial situation and move towards self-sufficiency. One
of the services that FSS provides to participants is access to a
career closet, which contains community donated professional/dress
casual clothing. We are looking for a volunteer to help manage the
career closet in Boulder. The volunteer for the FSS career closet
would be responsible for checking the donation phone line, setting
up times for donations to be dropped off, going through donations
and sorting the clothing, taking unwanted clothing to the Salvation
Army and keeping the career closet organized. Volunteer hours
(weekdays only) are flexible. For more information, contact Ann

Give
a Grandparent a Break! For
a child facing out-of-home placement, going to a known and beloved
grandparent is a great comfort, but those grandparents face many
challenges.
Raising children as a senior is difficult, especially when
the children have been removed from their parent's custody. YOU
can help sustain children in the home.
The
Boulder County Department of Social Services needs volunteers to
provide respite time and support for the grandparents and
recreational activities for their children. Contact
Thomi Quackenbush at 303-441-1053 or

Give a Kid a Lift!
Do you like to drive and build a relationship at the same time? Kids in
out-of-home-placement (and their foster parents) need help with
transportation. Getting to and from court ordered visitation,
therapeutic and medical appointments and school events is often a
strain on kids, foster families and their caseworkers. This is
a great way to ease into a mentoring relationship and a time when
these kids need a caring adult and a sympathetic ear. For more information, contact Thomi Quackenbush or Donna McCraith at 303- 441-1053 or e-mail them
at
