Antiques Enthusiast Needed

Boulder County Parks and Open Space is currently  looking for someone with a strong interest in antiques who would be willing to help process our extensive artifact collection.  This position is long-term and the ideal candidate will be willing to commit to at least two 5-hour shifts per month in Longmont.  If you are interested in this position, please contact Tom McMichen at 303 776-8848 or send e-mail to tmcmichen@bouldercounty.org.

Tour Guides Needed at the Agricultural Heritage Center

Do you love history?  Do you enjoy talking to people?  Then we have a great volunteer opportunity for you!  We need Tour Guides for Boulder County's Agricultural Heritage Center at the Lohr/McIntosh Farm in Longmont.  Volunteers will educate visitors about agricultural life on the Front Range between 1900 and 1925.

Tours at the farm include two historic barns, multiple granaries, a silo, milk house, outhouse, garage, a working blacksmith shop, and a 1909 farmhouse filled with furnishings from the period.  Farm animals are also a part of the interpretive experience.  Volunteers are needed primarily for weekday tours for school groups.  For more information or for a volunteer application, please call Tom McMichen at 303 776-8848 or send e-mail to tmcmichen@bouldercounty.org.
