Q. How old do I have to be?
A. Corpsmembers must be at least 14 years old
and no older than 17 years old by June 16, 2008.
Q. How much would I get paid?
A. 1st year Corpsmembers make $7.02 an hour,
2nd & 3rd year Corpsmembers make $7.27 an hour
and
4th year Corpsmembers make $7.52 an hour
Q. What hours would I work?
A. Corpsmembers work Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until
4:00 p.m. with a half-hour unpaid lunch. That figures out to 30 hours
per week.
Q. When does the season start and end?
A. The season begins on Monday, June 16, 2008 and ends on
Wednesday, August 6, 2008. See the

Q. Do I have to live in Boulder County?
A. Yes, Corpsmembers must be residents of Boulder County.
Q. What type of work would I do?
A. The Youth Corps works exclusively on outdoor service projects.
Much of the work requires hard, physical labor. Projects include trail building,
landscaping, forestry work, historic restoration, fence building and noxious
weed removal.

Q. How much time can I miss?
A. Corpsmembers can miss no more than 4 days of work (or 30
hours).
Q. Is there a lot of competition for these jobs?
A. Yes. Last year we received over 400 applications for 155
positions.
Q. What does the word 'Corps' mean and how do I pronounce it?
A. The word 'Corps' means, "a group of people associated or acting
together." Corps is pronounced korh. The plural form is
spelled the same way but pronounced korhs.
