COVID-19 Safety Information

Bring a face covering.
Face coverings are required at trailheads, when passing other visitors, and when six feet of distancing cannot be maintained. See the Public Health Order for more information.
Give space to others on the trails.
Please stay at least six feet away from people who are not from the same household.
Follow all rules and regulations.
Park in designated spaces only and follow trail directional arrows. Rangers are issuing fines for violations.
Visit on weekdays to avoid crowds.
Parks and trails are generally less crowded on weekdays. Parking lots are full as early as 8 a.m. on weekends.

Land Conservation Award Winners

Congratulations to the 2020 Land Conservation Award winners. Individuals are awarded for outstanding contributions made to the conservation, preservation, and protection of land-based environmental resources.

Free Hessie Trailhead Shuttle

Take the free shuttle from Nederland High School to the Hesssie Trailhead on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. A mask or face covering is required to ride the shuttle.

Blue-Green Algae

Be cautious of algal blooms in lakes and ponds this summer. Visitors and residents should exercise caution and keep children and pets out of the water in any areas where algae are observed. When in doubt, just stay out.

Carolyn Holmberg Preserve Management Plan Update

The management plan for Carolyn Holmberg Preserve at Rock Creek Farm is being updated. Initial public comments are being accepted.

Boulder Area Trails App

The Boulder Area Trails app provides access to trail information in and around Boulder County. The app includes 295 trailheads and 1,440 miles of trail from 12 different agencies.
