Volunteer Videographer Intern

Description: Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department is recruiting for a volunteer videographer to create several short volunteer recruitment videos. Volunteer videographer will be involved in all steps of creating these videos including: planning, camera work on open space properties, and editing video clips with audio tracks to create high-quality videos for use on our website.

Time Commitment: Position is open until filled; however, applications are preferred by May 1 due to volunteer activity calendar. Length of internship can be tailored to the successful applicant's needs. Work schedule is flexible and intern can work at home to edit video.

Qualifications: Intern needs to provide own equipment (cameras, tripods, editing software, computer, etc) to create videos. Intern must demonstrate technical proficiency of film equipment and software, and knowledge of video production process from conception to production.

Conservation Easement Volunteer Intern

Description: Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department is recruiting for a volunteer Conservation Easement intern to assist with various duties related to management and acquisition of Conservation Easements (CE). Length of internship can be tailored to the successful applicant's needs. Duties may include: prepare and maintain monitoring files, conduct site visits monitoring for compliance with CE terms, identify and research potential violations of CEs, respond to landowner inquiries, participate in meetings and hearings, maintain current data in a database, obtain and review due diligence items for conservation easement transactions, create baseline documentation reports for CE transactions, develop management plans for properties with assistance from natural resources staff and assist Real Estate Division staff with various projects. To round out the intern's experience, the intern will also be assigned non-real estate projects according to the intern's interests.

Project Date &/or Time Commitment: May-October (months and duration are flexible)

Qualifications: At least two years prior work experience required. Prefer bachelor's degree, or nearly-earned degree requiring an internship, in resource management, land conservation, conservation easement stewardship, or related field. General knowledge of the principles and practices of land conservation, land management, and land stewardship required, as well as strong oral and written communication skills, ability to work effectively with others including the public, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, ArcGIS, and GPS units helpful. Position is open until filled; however, applications are preferred by May 1 and may be submitted early.
