Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems: Regulations, Fees, & Forms

New OWTS Fees (Effective September 15, 2020)

On September 14, 2020, the Boulder County Board of Health adopted Resolution 2020-02, revising Boulder County Onsite Wastewater Treatment System (OWTS) Program fees. The revised fees were set following a review of OWTS Program costs and removal of the $1,000 fee cap that has been removed by the State of Colorado (Colorado Revised Statutes §25-10-107).

Regulations

Regulation of onsite wastewater is done at the local level. Boulder County Public Health (BCPH) regulations govern all OWS in Boulder County. These regulations incorporate the guidelines established by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE); however, they are more stringent in some areas.
