Boulder County Housing & Human Services offers several options for holiday giving during the 2017 holiday season.
The Family-To-Family Holiday Program
The Family-to-Family Holiday Program in its 43rd year, serves low-income families and individuals who are clients of our Child Protection, Foster Care, Adolescent, Adult Protection (elderly and disabled adults) programs, and our basic needs families. Caseworkers refer their lowest income and highest need clients to this program. We hope you will join our effort to brighten the lives of county residents who will otherwise do without this holiday season. Last year we served over 390 families (totaling more than 1,300 individuals). The BCHC is the non-profit 501 ( c ) 3 organization that serves as the umbrella agency for the Casa de la Esperanza, Family Self-Sufficiency, Family & Children Services and the Family-to-Family Holiday Gift Programs.
Our motto, “Hope for the future, Help when you need it” symbolizes our efforts to place individual empowerment, family self-sufficiency and safety at the forefront of all our work. We are using every opportunity to form partnerships with families by giving them the primary voice in decisions that affect their lives. We know that support combined with empowerment fosters self-sufficiency. With that in mind, we are asking you to support financially struggling families and individuals by making a donation so they can receive gift cards this holiday season. These parents will relish the opportunity to purchase presents for their own children, and Teens and disabled or elderly adult clients will have an opportunity to shop for themselves.
Donors can use the sum of $50 per person to gauge the maximum number of people to support.
You are at the heart of this program. We couldn’t do this without you, and we need your support now. The Family-to-Family Program brings tremendous joy to the people we serve. It allows a low-income mother to give her two young children the gifts she knows they’ve been wishing for this season. The program helps struggling parents light up their kids’ faces during the holidays. It captures the spirit of hope and help each holiday season.
