Weatherization Program (LPEC)

Weatherization means making cost-effective, energy-efficient improvements and upgrades in your home. These measures will reduce energy usage while improving the comfort of your home year round.

Free weatherization improvements are available to qualifying homeowners and renters and may include:

  • Insulation in attics and walls
  • Furnace replacement
  • Furnace safety testing
  • Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFL’s)
  • Refrigerator Replacement
  • Sealing air leaks
  • Energy audit
  • Storm windows and doors
  • Energy conservation information

Whether you are looking to save money, improve the comfort and value of your home or help protect our environment, weatherization can help. Here are some benefits to weatherizing your home:

Cotton Insulation

Homeowners or renters (with landlord permission) in Boulder, Broomfield, Gilpin and Larimer counties who currently receive assistance from any of the following programs qualify automatically for weatherization services:

  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
  • Aid to the Needy and Disabled (AND)
  • Old Age Pension (OAP)
  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
  • Low Income Energy Assistance (LEAP)
  • Social Security Disability (SSDI)
  • Food Assistance (SNAP)


Households can also be eligible if they meet required income guidelines. You can use the chart below to see if you qualify:
