Health Inspections for Child Care Facilities

Health inspections are required for all Boulder County licensed child care facilities. We strive to make the inspections less regulatory and more educational. Inspections are based on the criteria found in our Health Inspection Form.

A Certified Playground Safety Inspection (CPSI) can be included in addition to your health inspection visit. Please see table below.

What to Expect at a Health Inspection

A health inspection can take an average of 2 to 5 hours of time on site, depending on the type of program, age of children, how many child care rooms the program has, whether diapering is done, and the extent of the food service provided. Inspections may also require follow up visits and on-site training.

The fee for programs providing more extensive care is higher due to the amount of time it takes to complete the health inspection.
