Respite Programs offer a temporary break that provides relief for a family member, partner or other person regularly caring for a frail adult. Respite can range from a few hours, to a full day, or a week or more, depending upon the needs and resources of the family.
- The Boulder County Respite and Companion Volunteer Program is jointly sponsored by Boulder County Area Agency on Aging and local senior services from the cities of Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont and Louisville. Screened and trained volunteers are matched to provide one-on-one companionship with an older adult who is experiencing isolation, or some degree of compromised health, thereby providing a respite, or break, for caregivers.
