Resource Conservation Advisory Board (RCAB)

The Resource Conservation Advisory Board (RCAB) was formed in 2002 to advise the Board of County Commissioners on major waste diversion policies and strategies. RCAB meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 4:45 – 6:30 p.m. at the Boulder County Recycling Center, 1901 63rd St., Boulder. Occasionally, the schedule is adjusted due to holidays or other significant events.

Upcoming Meeting

The next meeting is April 26th from 4:45 – 6:30 p.m. at the Boulder County Recycling Center, 1901 63rd St., Boulder. Upcoming meeting agendas will be posted one week before the meeting.

Board Members

Membership is comprised of the following:

  • Five at-large members, one representative from Boulder County government and one representative from each of the following organizations – Center for ReSource Conservation, Eco-Cycle, University of Colorado Recycling Services, Western Disposal Services and one additional Hauler (appointed by the County Commissioners)
  • One representative from each of the following communities (appointed by the community that they represent) – Boulder, Broomfield, Erie, Jamestown, Lafayette, Longmont, Louisville, Lyons, Nederland, Superior, and Ward.

Solid Waste & Diversion Survey

RCAB implemented a survey of its members in 2012 to gather solid waste and diversion data for 2011 by community. The survey provides a quick overview of what each town/city does for solid waste diversion, incentives, costs, tons and kinds of materials diverted.
