Boulder County Announces Food Waste Awareness Week, April 16-22

Boulder County, Colo. - The average American tosses nearly 300lbs of food each year, food that is often perfectly fine to consume. Boulder County is launching its first annual Food Waste Awareness Week, April 16-22, to help residents learn waste reduction tips and techniques to help save food, money, water, and other resources.

Throughout the week, Boulder County and its partners will be hosting a series of events to bring awareness to this issue in our local community. In addition, residents have the option to sign up to receive daily e-newsletters with information on food waste reduction tips, food reuse recipes from area chefs, and other important food waste messages through an email newsletter. Interested participants can also take a pledge to make an effort to reduce their own waste. The newsletter sign up, pledge form, and more information can be found at www.BoulderCounty.org/food-waste
