Boulder County Motor Vehicle branches to offer appointment scheduling

Residents can now avoid the wait and make
appointments for many services

Boulder County, Colo. – The Boulder County Motor Vehicle Division is now offering most services by appointment, allowing residents to plan ahead, book an appointment online, and avoid waiting.

The Boulder County Clerk & Recorder’s office runs the local Motor Vehicle Division where residents title vehicles, receive license plates, and renew registration.

Appointments are available at all three branches:1750 33rd Street in Boulder, 529 Coffman Street in Longmont, and 1376 Miners Drive in Lafayette. Appointments can be made Monday through Friday, between 8:30 – 11 a.m. and 2 – 3:15 p.m.

Appointments can be made for the following services:

  • titling a vehicle and getting license plates;
  • transfer of registration;
  • temporary permits;
  • fleet vehicle registration;
  • manufactured home registration;
  • services for persons with disabilities;
  • special mobile machinery registration; and
  • appointments for licensed Colorado dealers.

Registration renewals are not offered by appointment, as almost all residents can either renew online, by mail, or at the self-service kiosk at the Boulder branch, which is available weekdays from 7 a.m. to close.

“We are excited to start offering appointments at our offices,” stated Boulder County Clerk and Recorder Hillary Hall. “We’ve been testing the service for a few months now and residents are extremely pleased that they can get in and get out in a short amount of time.”
