Budget Office to present 2018 Recommended Budget to Boulder County Commissioners – Oct. 10
Members of the public are invited to attend (or watch online) the budget presentation meeting at 2 p.m. on Oct. 10. A public hearing on the recommended budget will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24.
(Boulder County, Colo.) -- The Budget Office will present a
recommended budget for calendar year 2018 to the Board of County Commissioners
at a public meeting scheduled for 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10.
The 2018 Recommended Budget is a
baseline budget prepared by the Budget Office to serve as a starting point for
the Board of County Commissioners to consider as part of their statutory responsibility
to set a balanced budget by Dec. 15 for the upcoming year.
The meeting will
take place in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room on the 3rd floor of the Boulder
County Courthouse at 1325 Pearl St. in Boulder. It will be webstreamed live (and
archived for future viewing) at: http://boco.solutions/app/hearings.html.
The budget presentation will
include a review of county funds and a description of expenditures that the
Budget Office has recommended for inclusion in the 2018 Boulder County Budget.
It will also include preliminary forecasted revenue figures for 2018, many of
which will be updated throughout the fall as more detailed projections become
A public hearing is scheduled for 4
p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, for members of the public to comment on the proposed
2018 Budget in person. Comments can also be sent to the County Commissioners
using the 2018 Proposed Budget Public Comment Form.
Additional budget requests,
priorities, and adjustments to the recommended budget will be considered by the
Board of County Commissioners at their annual budget work session on Thursday,
Nov. 2. The final budgeted is scheduled to be adopted by the county commissioners on Tuesday,
Dec. 12. All proposed budgetary figures are subject to change up until final adoption.
