Caregiving Symposium to inform and support family caregivers, May 19

Registration for
the event is required by May 12

Boulder County, Colo. - The 11th
annual Caregiving Symposium, sponsored by Boulder County Area Agency on Aging, a
division of Community Services, will be held May 19 in Longmont. The symposium
is designed for Boulder County residents who provide care for older relatives,
partners or friends, but is open to the general public. It provides family
caregivers the opportunity to visit with service providers, enhance caregiving skills,
learn about eldercare issues, and share with each other.

Convention Center, 1850 Industrial Circle, Longmont

The Caregiving
Symposium features a resource fair of 100 local service providers,
complimentary lunch, informative handouts, and workshops on topics such as
dementia care, Medicaid eligibility, home health care services, caregiver
self-care, medication management, safety issues, nutrition, consumer fraud, and
more.

A family
caregiver who attends every Caregiving Symposium says, “I wouldn’t miss this
event. Each one helps me learn more about being a caregiver and reminds me that
there’s a lot of support available in our community.”

General
admission for the Caregiving Symposium is free, but pre-registration by May 12

. Walk-in
registration is permissible, but does not include lunch. Caregivers are welcome
to attend all or only part of the event. Free on-site elder care is offered, by
