Discharge of Firearms or Arrows Restricted in Sugarloaf Area

As the hunting season gets underway, we remind hunters
that the discharge of firearms or arrows is restricted within the Sugarloaf
Closure Area. The closure area is in accordance with Boulder County Resolutions
No. 80-52, No. 2015-44 and Colorado Revised Statutes 30-15-302.
The area that has been closed to the discharge of
firearms and arrows includes the Mountain Pines, Mountain Meadows, Pride of the
West and Sugarloaf Acres subdivisions and
includes Forest Service land within the resolution area. Unless
hunters have permission from a private property owner to discharge a firearm or arrow
on their land, they cannot legally discharge a firearm or arrow in this area. A map

area is available on the Boulder Sheriff’s Office website.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Forest
Service and the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife will be patrolling the
area and will investigate any reported violations. These include, but are
not limited to, the following County, State and Federal violations:
Discharging a firearm on public or private land in
The reckless discharge of a firearm or other deadly
On public lands outside the closure area - discharging a firearm or other implement capable of taking human life, causing
injury, or damaging property within 150 yards of a residence, building,
campsite, developed recreation area or occupied area.
Please help us by hunting responsibly, obeying any
applicable law, rule or regulation and understanding the impact you have on
the people who live in the area.
