Hailstorm repair roofing permits prompt temporary change to Building Safety & Inspection Services office hours

Building Safety & Inspection Services office will be closed to the public on Tuesday’s until further notice

Boulder County, Colo. - In response to the severe hailstorms that hit Boulder County in mid-July, 2018, the Boulder County Land Use Department is instituting a change in services available on Tuesday’s.

Building Safety & Inspection Services staff has been overwhelmed with roofing permits following the hailstorms. Roofing permit applications were up 973% in August of 2018 compared to August 2017.

In order to maintain functioning permit activities, the Building Safety & Inspection Services office at 2045 13th St., Boulder, will be closed to the public on Tuesday’s until further notice. This temporary closure is to allow for uninterrupted time for processing of permits. Staff expects this to be a short-term situation, and plans on restoring normal operating hours as soon as possible.

All automated and online systems will remain fully functioning, and field inspections will not be affected. Staff will respond to voicemails and emails as soon as possible during these closure times, but longer response times should be anticipated.

Planning
and zoning consultations will still be available at t
he Land Use Department office, and which will remain open for regular business hours: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and
10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

We understand that this may present a temporary hardship for our customers, and we thank you for your patience as we work through this localized hail emergency.
