A second grenade has been disposed of in southern Boulder County
Boulder County, Colo.--
At approximately 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2015,
Rangers from Boulder County Parks and Open Space located a second hand grenade
at Stearns Lake in southern Boulder County.
Tonight Boulder County Parks and Open Space Rangers were
checking the shore line of the lake, as they had earlier in the day. One of the
rangers located the hand grenade on the shore and was calling the other ranger
over as Christine Noel, a member of a 9 News crew walked up on the grenade and
pointed it out to the Rangers. Christine had been in the area reporting on
yesterday’s discovery of the first grenade by a couple fishing in the area.
The Boulder County Bomb squad responded and
placed a C-4 counter charge adjacent to the hand grenade to provide a
