Head Start seeks additional families for Boulder locations

Enrollment is for the 2016/17 school year

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Head Start has openings for enrollment, specifically at their Boulder locations, for the school year beginning on Aug. 24. Head Start is a comprehensive child development program for low income families and children with disabilities, to help prepare children for kindergarten.

Any families seeking a full-day preschool program for 3- and 4-year-olds should call the main Head Start number at 303-441-3980. All students must be age 3 by Sept. 30. Eligibility for the program is based on the age of the child and family income from last year. The threshold for eligibility is between 100-130% of poverty, depending on the size of the family. Eligibility will be screened and determined with staff from the program, so families are encouraged to call for more information.

Head Start provides a full-day program from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Monday – Friday, at the Boulder and Lafayette sites to assist families who work or attend school. The program is designed to meet the needs of the child through a unique partnership between teachers and parents.
