Help shape the future of Arapahoe Road/SH 7 at an open house June 26

County seeking feedback on alternative designs to enhance walking,
biking, and transit

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder
County Transportation and its consultants will host an open house to present
recommended alternatives for SH 7/Arapahoe Road enhancements. These recommended
enhancements are aimed at addressing anticipated growth of the area/region and
corresponding traffic demands by improving the road for walking, biking, motor
vehicles, and buses along Arapahoe Road/SH 7 between US 287 and 75
th
Street.

What:
Open House on the future of
Arapahoe Road (75th Street to US 287)
When: Monday, June 26, 6 - 8 p.m.
Where: Boulder County Recycling Center –
Education Room,1901 63rd
Street, Boulder

The
meeting will start with a short presentation by staff. Meeting attendees will
then have a chance to review alternative designs and concepts at their own
pace, pose questions to the project team, and provide their thoughts on the
alternatives.

More
information and the draft alternatives will be made available at
www.SH7PEL.com. Those who
cannot attend the meeting can learn more and use an online comment form to
provide their thoughts on the alternatives.

The
design alternatives are a result of studies that were undertaken by Boulder
County and project partners and are a continuation of work started by CDOT and
RTD to identify necessary traffic/travel improvements between Boulder and Brighton.
The county conducted its own study on the specific stretch of Arapahoe Road
between 75th Street and US 287 to provide a closer examination of a
major portion of the road that lies within unincorporated Boulder County and to
develop a cohesive operations plan for the corridor.

Recommendations
produced by this process will be implemented in years to come by Boulder County,
CDOT, and RTD.
