Hiker Falls Into Creek Above Boulder Falls

Boulder County, Colo. - On June 19, 2016 at about 5:42 PM Boulder County Communications Center received multiple 911 calls reporting a person in the water near Boulder Falls, located near the 33,000 block of Boulder Canyon. Members of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Sugarloaf Fire Protection District, American Medical Response and City of Boulder Open Space Rangers responded. In the interim, Good Samaritans pulled a 21 year old female from the water and began to provide CPR. Upon the arrival of emergency services personnel resuscitation efforts continued and the female was transported to Boulder Community Hospital - Foothills.

During the subsequent investigation deputies learned the female and others were inside the Boulder Falls recreation area, despite the area being closed. Additionally, it was learned the female actually fell into North Boulder Creek above Boulder Falls and was later pulled from the waters of Boulder Creek, approximately one mile below where she entered.

The female's name is not being released pending the notification of family members.
