Hiker rescued from Chautauqua Park

Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday, December 24, 2016 at approximately 2:33 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center received a 911 call advising that a 60- year old female had fallen on the ice and injured her leg while hiking on the trail between the First and Second Flatiron in Chautauqua Park. Two hikers came across the injured female and went to the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Ranger Station to guide rescue personnel to the injured party.

Rescue personnel from the Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMR), the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks Rangers (OSMP), the Boulder Fire Department, American Medical Response and Deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene to assist. Rescuers were able to locate the hiker and assisted with bringing her down the trail safely.

The hiker was transported by ambulance to an area hospital because of her injuries. The associated case number for this incident is 16-7821.
