How to talk with kids about alcohol & drugs @ Teen Substance Abuse Town Hall, Tues, 6/21 in Lafayette

Informative event provides important information on the best ways to talk with kids about alcohol and drugs

Boulder
County, Colo.
Families and youth are invited to attend an open town hall on Tuesday, June 21 from 6 - 8:15 p.m. to learn
about the most recent research and current trends on how to help prevent
underage drinking and deter marijuana use among teens.


What: Teen Substance Abuse Town Hall


When: Tuesday, June 21, 6-8:15 p.m.


Where: Arapahoe YMCA, 2800 Dagny Way, Lafayette, CO

Parents, educators, adult mentors, and policymakers from across Boulder County are encouraged to attend. No registration is needed.

Presented in both
English and Spanish, the event will feature community youth talking about the
best ways to keep today’s kids substance free, a discussion on brain chemistry
and development, bilingual workshops, and a resource fair. Dinner will be
provided, and childcare is available for children ages six weeks to ten years.

In addition,
participants will be entered in a drawing for a free laptop and other gifts.
The event is being hosted by the Boulder County Healthy Youth Alliance and the
YMCA of Boulder Valley.

Coordinator. “It’s important to know the facts around substance abuse and to
learn the best ways to keep the conversation going with your kids.”
