Human services nonprofit agencies may now apply for 2020 Worthy Cause IV pool funding

Deadline to apply is Aug. 1

Boulder County, Colo. - Nonprofit human service agencies and housing authorities in Boulder County may now apply for capital funds through Boulder County’s 2020 Worthy Cause pool funding process now through Aug. 1, 2019.

The Worthy Cause Request for Funding application for 2020 pool funding is available on the Boulder County website at boco.org/WorthyCause. Applications must be submitted through Boulder County’s online application system by no later than 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2019. Late applications will not be accepted.

During the 2017 General Election, Boulder County voters approved an extension of the 0.05% Worthy Cause sales tax with 79% of the vote. The 15-year initiative allocates a portion of sales tax revenue to Boulder County nonprofit human service agencies for capital projects, including the purchase of land or buildings, construction, renovation, or debt reduction. To find out more about investments made through the Worthy Cause sales tax, view the Worthy Cause program report.

Revenues from the sales tax will be awarded to eligible human services nonprofits through a competitive funding process, for which qualifying nonprofit agencies may now apply via the Request for Funding process. Awards will be made using funds generated in 2019.

Throughout the course of Worthy Cause funding, sales tax revenue has been leveraged through fundraising and other grants to strengthen our community services in early childhood learning, family support services, basic needs services such as food, clothing, housing and shelter, domestic violence; and healthcare.
