Boulder County, Colo.-- On Sunday August 9, 2015 at 0930 a.m. a climbing accident
occurred in Eldorado State Park, Boulder County, Colorado. Climber 56 year old Fort Collins resident,
Craig Zimmerman was ascending the “break through route” on the west wall of
Eldorado State Park when he fell approximately 40 feet.Climbing partner Jeff Larsen was able to stop
the fall and fellow climbers assisted with contacting emergency rescue personnel.Both climbers had proper equipment and
considerable climbing experience.
Members from Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Rocky Mountain
Fire, Eldorado State Park and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office coordinated a
rescue of Zimmerman from the rock wall and an evacuation to medical care.
Zimmerman was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
