Injured Hiker Rescue in Boulder County, Colorado

Boulder County, Colo.
On June 28th, 2016, at approximately 1040 hours, members with the Nederland Fire Department, American Medical Response (AMR), Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMR), and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office responded to the 5300 Block of Caribou Road in unincorporated Boulder County, Colorado on the report of an injured hiker.
Sandy Carpenter, an 86 year old female, was hiking with friends in the 5300 block of Caribou Road when she fell and sustained a wrist and pelvis injury. She was unable to walk and required rescue.
Rescuers with Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and American Medical Response hiked to her location and rendered aid. A technical wheeled litter evacuation was used to get Ms. Carpenter to the ambulance. She was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
