Injured hiker rescued on Lions Lair Trail

Boulder County, Colo. - On Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at approximately 12:30 p.m., the Boulder County Communications Center was notified of an injured hiker on the Lions Lair Trail.

A twenty-four year-old female from Boulder, CO sustained a non-life threatening ankle injury while hiking the Lions Lair Trail. Rocky Mountain Rescue Group provided a litter evacuation to the Lions Lair Spur Trailhead. The hiker declined ambulance transport. The rescue lasted approximately one and one-half hours.

Agencies assisting with this rescue included: Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks, American Medical Response, Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District, Boulder Rural Fire Protection District, and Sunshine Fire Protection District.
