Male rescued from Brainard Lake area due to medical concerns
Boulder County, Colo. - On March 3, 2017 at approximately 3:30 pm, the Boulder County Communications Center received information of an SOS activation from an emergency beacon. Members of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group (RMR), American Medical Response (AMR), and Indian Peaks Fire Protection District responded to what was believed to be a medical emergency based on a text of “heart” from the beacon. Slutz was safely evacuated by snow machine to the “winter parking lot” of Brainard Lake by RMR, where he was ultimately airlifted to a local hospital by Med Evac 2 due to his complaint of chest pains while shoe shoeing.
