Missing Elderly Man
Boulder County Sheriff's Office Search for Missing 83 Year Old--UPDATE, Man Found
Boulder County, Colo. - On 10-18-2015, at approximately 1100am, Louis Bova left his home in Niwot, Colorado, to go to the grocery store in Longmont, Colorado. Louis did not return home after several hours, and did not appear to make it to his destination. Louis did not have his cell phone with him when he left home today. Concerned about his safety, family contacted the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. Boulder County Sheriff's Deputies conducted an extensive search for Mr. Bova, but were unable to locate him.
Earlier this evening, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office put out a press release, asking the public for its help in locating Mr. Bova. The Sheriff's Office also had Mr. Bova, and the license plate associated with the car he was driving today, entered into the nationwide law enforcement database. The information indicated he was considered a missing person.
Just shortly before 845pm (MDT), on 10-18-2015, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office was advised that Mr. Bova had been located, alive and well, near Lincoln, Nebraska. He was contacted by a Nebraska State Patrol trooper, who had stopped to check on Mr. Bova and his car, as the car was disabled along the side of the highway. Upon contacting Mr. Bova, Trooper Mike Mallery discovered Mr. Bova was listed as a missing person, and therefore contacted the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. It appears Mr. Bova became disoriented as to where his home was located.
Arrangements are being made for Mr. Bova's family to meet him in Lincoln, so that he can be brought back home to the Niwot area. He is currently in the care of the Nebraska State Patrol.
Thank you to all who looked for Mr. Bova during the time he was missing.
