Ongoing Search for Missing Person

Ryder Johnson (20), missing since 3 pm on Sunday

Boulder County, Colo. - Ryder Johnson, a 20 year old Lafayette man was reported missing after he never showed up at home on Sunday. He was last seen leaving his work at Eldora Ski area on Sunday at approximately 3 pm. On Sunday evening at approximately 10 pm, a Sheriff's deputy found Johnson's vehicle parked near Gross Reservoir in the 5800 block of Flagstaff Road.

At 8 am this morning, approximately 30 rescuers from Rocky Mountain Rescue, Front Range Rescue Dogs, City of Boulder Parks Rangers, County of Boulder Parks Rangers, Denver Water Board personnel, an Eldorado Canyon State Park Ranger and deputies of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office began an area search of the Gross Reservoir and Walker Ranch Open Space area. A helicopter was also used in the search.

Searchers were unable to find Johnson and search efforts have been suspended until tomorrow morning.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office asks anybody with information about Mr. Johnson's whereabouts or if you think you might have seen him, please call (303) 441-4444. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 155 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last known to be wearing a red and black coat with an Eldora Ski jacket and black pants.
