Recruitment for Boulder County advisory boards and commissions closes Aug. 11

Boulder County invites residents to voice opinions, provide guidance

Boulder County, Colo. -- Boulder County is seeking volunteers who would like to voice their opinions and help guide decisions on matters ranging from resource conservation to community and work programs. The deadline for members of the public to view vacancies and apply online for positions is Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Advisory boards and commissions provide recommendations to the Boulder County Commissioners and give residents the opportunity to have their voices heard within Boulder County government. The county, in turn, benefits from this input.

To view descriptions and requirements for the various boards and commissions or to fill out an application, visit the Advisory Boards and Commissions page of the Boulder County website.

We are especially seeking applicants for these boards:

The board advises Community Action Programs (CAP) staff on program development and implementation. See: www.boco.org/CAPboard.

  • Community Corrections Board -- This local board with up to nine volunteer citizen members and five criminal justice system representatives reviews individual cases for funding approval. Cases are referred by the Probation Department and Department of Corrections (state prison system). See: https://boco.org/CommunityCorrectionsBoard
  • Extension Advisory Board -- The mission of the Extension Advisory Board is to serve in an advisory capacity to the CSU Extension Services staff and the Boulder County Commissioners in developing, maintaining, and providing educational programs to the citizens of Boulder County with help and guidance from Colorado State University. See: www.boco.org/ExtensionAdvisoryBoard.
  • Mosquito Control District - "Mosquito control with a conscience!" The Boulder County Mosquito Control District (BCMCD) was established in 1995 by the Board of County Commissioners to protect residents from the health risks, annoyance, and discomfort associated with mosquitoes.
