Resource Conservation Hosts America Recycles Day Event on Nov. 15
Event includes guest speakers, a film screening, a Recycling Center tour, and refreshments for all attendees
Boulder County, Colo. - Wednesday, Nov. 15 is nationally recognized as America Recycles Day. On this day, people from across the country are encouraged to take the time to learn more about local recycling options and take a pledge to recycle more in the coming year. The Boulder County Resource Conservation Division is hosting an event for the public at the Recycling Center.
What: America Recycles Day Event
When: Wednesday, Nov. 15, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Where: Boulder County Recycling Center, 1901 63rd Street, Boulder
Please join staff at the Boulder County Recycling Center for an evening with guest speakers discussing engaging topics such as food waste, the impacts of China’s green sword, and the correlation between solid waste and climate change. Attendees can also participate in a tour of the Recycling Center and view a film screening of "The Clean Bin Project," a film about two friends competing to see how can live completely waste free.
Pizza and other refreshments will be provided for those who attend. This event is free and open to all members of the public.
The Boulder County Recycling Center is a single-stream recycling facility that has been operating for more than 15 years and processes more than 45,000 tons of material each year. The facility completed an equipment upgrade in October that allows for more types of plastic to be recycled at the facility.
