Search and Rescue Big Owl Road
Boulder County, Colo. - At approximately 1702 hours, Deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office along with members of the Allenspark Fire Protection District, Rocky Mountain Rescue, Front Range Rescue Dogs and the Rocky Mountain National Parks Service responded to the area of the 2200 block of Big Owl Road, Boulder County, Colorado on the report of a lost 17 year old male.
The missing male party had been left at a cabin in the area while other family members went to Estes Park. When the family returned the party was missing.
A search of the area was conducted and lasted for several hours. The father of the missing party remembered him mentioning wanting to climb Longs Peak and was able to find him there.
The party was found approximately 1/2 of a mile up the Longs Peak Trail and was dehydrated and possibly suffering from Altitude Sickness. Medical personnel were able to give him fluids and walk him down to paramedics waiting in the parking lot. The party was medically cleared on scene and released to family.
