Sexually violent predator to be placed on work release

Sexually violent predator to be placed on work release

Boulder County, Colo. - The Boulder County Sheriff's Office is releasing information pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes, which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender's release when the offender has been determined to be a sexually violent predator and is subject to community notification.

Joseph Jay Halliday has been convicted of a sex offense that requires law enforcement registration. Further, he has been determined to present a high potential to re-offend and is therefore subject to community notification regarding his residence in this community.

Community members needing additional information should contact the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. The Colorado Department of Public Safety has created an education video on sexually violent predators.

The purpose of this notification is to enhance public safety and protection. Vigilantism, or use of this information to harass, threaten, or intimidate any of the following people is criminal behavior and will not be tolerated: the offender, the offender's significant others and the community notification team.
