Boulder County, Colo. - The Board of County Commissioners and Planning Commission will hold a joint public hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 30 to consider staff recommendations and public comment related to three land use change requests in Area II and III of the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan.
The land use change requests are being considered as part of the 2015 Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan Major Five Year Update. The August 30 hearing agenda includes requests for Land Use Changes at: 3261 3rd Street, 2801 Jay Road and 6655 and 6500 Twin Lakes Rd., 0 Kalua Rd.

When: Hearing begins at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30
Where: Commissioners Hearing Room, Third Floor, Boulder County Courthouse,
1325 Pearl St. The hearing will be live-streamed and archived.
Public Comments: Those wishing to comment at the hearing are encouraged to sign up online in advance. Commenters will be assigned speaking slots on a first come, first served basis. The online sign up option will be available through Aug. 29 at midnight. Approximate speaking times will be posted on the morning of Aug. 30.
Written comments should be submitted by mail, in person to the Land Use Office, by 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26. Written comments will be accepted after the deadline, but may not be reviewed in time for the public hearing.
No decisions on the three land use change requests will be made on Aug. 30. Decisions will be made at the following meetings: Planning Commission, Sept. 21, 1:30 p.m.; Board of County Commissioners, Sept. 27, 3:30 p.m. The matters will advance to city decision making bodies in October starting with a joint Planning Board-City Council public hearing on Oct. 13. City of Boulder Open House on Aug. 29
The City of Boulder will host an open house from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29, to discuss potential changes to the policy chapters based on other approved city and county master plans and guidance from boards and commissions about emerging policy areas. It also is an opportunity to begin sharing research and analysis gathered to date that will be used to understand the benefits and tradeoffs of different planning scenarios. A draft of the potential changes will be available in advance of the meeting.
The event at the First Presbyterian Church, 1820 15th St., Boulder, is followed by a joint meeting of city boards scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
