Structure Fire Outside Lyons

Boulder County, Colo. - On Saturday May 7, 2016, at approximately 2:00pm, members of the Lyons Fire Department, Hygiene Fire Department, Pinewood Springs Fire Department, American Medical Response Paramedics, and deputies from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 100 block of Antelope Drive in unincorporated Boulder County for a structure fire at a single family home.

Due to the quick response of all agencies involved, the fire was quickly contained and extinguished allowing for the majority of the home to be salvaged. Part of the house did sustain severe damage. There were no injuries or any other property damage during this incident.

The home is believed to have been struck by lightning from a thunderstorm passing through the area at the time of this incident, but the cause and origin of the fire will still be investigated by the Multi Agency Fire Investigation Team (MAFIT) in the morning.
