Boulder County Parks & Open Space Hosts Summer Heritage Evening: Flora and Fauna

4-7 p.m. Saturday, July 21, Walker Ranch Homestead

Boulder County, Colo. - Boulder County Parks & Open Space will host Summer Heritage Evening: Flora and Fauna, highlighting the roles of plants and animals near a homestead like Walker Ranch in the late 1800s.

Visitors can meet farm animals up close at the petting zoo and learn about what farmers grew locally. Costumed volunteers demonstrate chores and games of the era and give a flavor of what life was like long ago on the ranch. The event also offers a chance for attendees to try their hand at several activities.

Attendees can bring a picnic supper to enjoy at the event. Picnickers are encouraged to also bring a blanket - there are no tables at the homestead.

  • Date and Time: Saturday, July 21, 4-7 p.m.
  • Where: Walker Ranch Homestead, 8999 Flagstaff Mountain Road, approximately 7 miles west of Boulder.
  • Cost: Free and fun for all ages.
