Boulder County, Colo.-- On Wednesday September 30, 2015 at approximately 12:11pm, the Boulder County Regional Communications Center received a report of a SPOT activation for SOS approximately 1.5 miles west of Long Lake Road in the Indian Peaks Wilderness, Boulder County, Colorado. The hiker, a 69 year old male, collapsed on the trail and died. He was with friends at the time of the call.
The hiker was carried out by Volunteers with Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office Fire Crew and Indian Peaks Fire Department.
The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office case number for this incident is 15-5671.
Cause and manner of death will be determined by the Boulder County Coroners office.
