Unattended Death in Northern Boulder County

87-year-old man found deceased under tractor.

Boulder County, Colo. - On November 25, 2016 at approximately 2:20 pm the Boulder County Communications Center received a call of a man pinned under a tractor in the 9500 block of Vermillion Road. Members of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Colorado State Patrol, the Mountain View Fire Department and the Boulder County Coroners Office responded to the scene. The male was declared deceased on the scene.

It appears the 87-year-old man, who lived alone at his residence, had gone out earlier in the day to start the tractor. He appeared to have been standing beside it, but in front of the rear tire, while the tractor was in gear. He was found later in the day pinned under the rear tire by a family member who had stopped by.

There is no foul play suspected at this time. The man's name is being withheld until the coroners office confirms the deceased identity and notifies next of kin. The sheriff's office will continue the investigation in conjunction with the coroners office.

The sheriff's office case number for this case is 16-7237. No further information is available at this time.
