Update on Search for Missing Lafayette Man
Ryder Johnson (20) missing since Sunday
Boulder County, Colo. - UPDATE
On Tuesday the search continued for 20-year-old Ryder Johnson of Lafayette. Searchers utilized a boat, provided by Boulder Emergency Squad, equipped with sonar to search the partially frozen water of Gross Dam. This search did not turn up any additional information. They also searched areas Mr. Johnson was known to frequent in the Gross Dam area, to no avail.
Boulder Emergency Squad utilized their Unmanned Arial System (UAS) this afternoon to check the areas around Gross Dam that are inaccessible to search crews. The UAS is operated by trained and qualified pilots under UAS guidelines, Federal Aviation Regulations and manufacturers' approved flight manuals. Mr. Johnson has not been located.
We will not have search crews in the field tomorrow, but detectives will be following up on interviews and any other information the locate. If you have additional information about Mr. Rider's whereabouts you are asked to contact the Boulder Sheriff's Office at 303-441-4444.
