The recovery efforts for a 44-year-old Denver woman have been completed.
Boulder County, Colo.-- This morning at approximately 11:30 hours, the search and rescue operation to recover and extricate the body of a 44-year-old Denver woman from a crevasse on Paiute Peak was completed. The woman had fallen while climbing with a companion early Sunday afternoon and died from her injuries shortly thereafter.
Sheriff's deputies and search and rescue personnel were assisted in the recovery efforts by Flight for Life and the Colorado National Guard. Due to the difficult terrain and remote location, the woman's body had to be airlifted from the peak.
The investigation into the woman's death will continue in conjunction with the Boulder County Coroner's Office.
