Vehicle Fire in the 6700 Bock of Sunshine Canyon Boulder County, Colorado

Boulder County, Colo. -

On July 4th, 2016, at approximately at 1430 hours, the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Sunshine Fire Department, Four Mile Fire Department and American Medical Response (AMR) responded to the 6700 block of Sunshine Canyon on the report of a vehicle fire.

A twenty year old male was driving a black Dodge pick-up truck and pulling a trailer in the 6700 block of Sunshine Canyon when smoke started coming from the engine compartment. The driver stopped on the side of the road just as flames erupted. The driver and his passenger were able to get out the truck unharmed. However, the truck was engulfed in flames.

Sunshine FD and Four Mile FD extinguished the flames and made sure the fire didn't spread. The road in that area was closed temporarily until the flames were out. The road was re-opened and the vehicle removed. American Medical Response responded only as a precaution; there were no injuries to either driver or his passenger.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office case report number for this incident is 16-3909.
