Wild Land Fire

Boulder County Sheriff's Office case number 16-4605

Boulder County, Colo. - On August 1st, 2016 at approximately 5:55pm the Boulder County Communication Center received phone calls regarding a wild land fire near the area of Gordon Gulch located near the 37 mile marker of the Peak to Peak Highway.

Deputies along with members from the Indian Peaks Fire Protection District, the Nederland Fire Protection District, the Boulder County Wild Land Fire Crew and a United States Forest Service Fire Crew responded to the area.

The fire was located between the Peak to Peak Highway and the Gordon Gulch camping area. The fire grew to approximately 1/4 of an acre in size before being put out. No buildings or persons were threatened by the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and a Fire Investigator from the United States Forest Service is scheduled to respond this morning to continue the investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
