Wildland Fire Near Logan Mill Ranch (1300 block Logan Mill Road)

Boulder County, Colo. - On August 16, 2016 at about 12:20 AM, deputies of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, members of Four Mile, Sunshine, Sugarloaf Fire Protection Districts, Boulder County Emergency Services and Boulder Emergency Squad responded to the area near the 1300 block of Logan Mill Road on the report of a wildland fire with flames visible. Fire personnel subsequently located the fire above the top of Logan Mill Road, which appeared to have been preliminarily caused by a power line issue.

Hand crews were dispatched into the field once Xcel Energy crews killed the electrical power lines in the area. The burn area is estimated to be about 1/4 acre currently, but will be further evaluated upon daybreak. No structures are threatened and weather conditions remain favorable for firefighting efforts. Fire command expects to be in mop-up stages by sunrise.
