Public is invited to the event at the Longmont Senior Center

Boulder County, Colo. - Workforce Boulder County is hosting a ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 12, for the newest graduates of its GED program.

What: Workforce Boulder County GED graduation ceremony
When: Saturday, Aug. 12, 2 p.m.
Where: Longmont Senior Citizens Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue

Workforce Boulder County works with both job seekers and businesses to meet community employment needs. In today’s economy, it is very difficult to find a decent job without at least a high school education. Workforce clients, many of whom are currently living at or below the poverty level, are assisted with GED and college entrance exam preparation while building the literacy and numeracy skills needed to succeed in the job marketplace.

This year's graduates are setting positive examples for their families and community. “I never would have thought I’d drop out, but life changes unexpectedly,” says Amythyst Schmitz, honors graduate. “Going through this program showed me how to work hard for what I want, and to not give up when times get rough. I hope other people know that you can succeed, as long as you are willing to work for it.”
