Due to the impacts of the September 2013 floods and subsequent changes in department priorities and work plans, the Platt Rogers / Reynolds Ranch Open Space Management Plan update will take longer to prepare than originally anticipated. However, informal scoping for the plan continues. Opportunities for formal public input will begin when the process is formally initiated. In the meantime, Parks and Open Space will continue collaborating with the US Forest Service in planning for recreational use in the Magnolia Road area.
In addition, due to the extent of damage throughout the county to existing trails, waterways, and lands, it is likely that any proposed changes in the planning area will not be implemented immediately following the adoption of the management plan, but will be completed as resources become available.
The management plan will cover properties located in upper Boulder Canyon and near Magnolia Road. These include:
- Platt Rogers
- Castle Rock Pull-Off
- Boulder Falls Mining Claims
- Reynolds Ranch.
