Treasurer’s Office

Treasurer's Office

The Treasurer’s Office collects taxes for real property, mobile homes, and business personal property. The Treasurer is also responsible for handling banking and investment for the county, in accordance with state and county regulations.

The Treasurer is also the Public Trustee. The Public Trustee serves as a neutral third party until real estate loans are paid in full. When the loan is paid, the Public Trustee releases the deed of trust, conveying ownership of the property to the borrower. The Public Trustee also manages the foreclosure process, including protecting the rights of both the borrower and the lender, noticing the sale, holding the sale, processing redemptions, and issuing deeds to sale purchasers.
