Upper Fourmile Canyon Drive (Salina to Sunset) Flood Recovery Project

FOURMILE CANYON DAYTIME/WEEKDAY CYCLING RESTRICTIONS EFFECTIVE APRIL 4, 2018

  • 2-Hour Weekday Road Closures through Tuesday, June 19
    • Crews installing culverts under the road.
    • Road Closed – 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. (then open for 30-minutes)
    • Road Closed – 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (then open for 30 minutes)
    • Road Closed – 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. (then open until the next morning)
    • Closure locations
      • May 29 = 5008 and 6294 Fourmile Canyon Drive
      • May 30 = 7142 Fourmile Canyon Drive
      • May 31 = 7850 Fourmile Canyon Drive
      • June 4 = 9083 Fourmile Canyon Drive
      • June 5 to June 8 = 7848 Fourmile Canyon Drive
      • June 11 to June 15 = 6715 Fourmile Canyon Drive
      • June 18 and 19 = 6556 Fourmile Canyon Drive
  • NO RECREATIONAL CYCLING IN FOURMILE CANYON OR GOLD RUN/SALIINA
    • 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Monday through Friday
  • Residential cycling excepted
    • Must carry valid identification proving residency
  • Map of restricted roads
  • Boulder County Sheriff’s Office enforcing restrictions
    • Violators could be subject to citation by law enforcement
  • Restrictions in place due to safety concerns stemming from extremely high volume of flood recovery-related construction activity throughout the canyon.

This is the home page for construction related to the Upper Fourmile Canyon Drive/Wall Street (Salina Junction to Sunset) Permanent Flood Recovery Project. Construction is underway as of November 2017.

Project Details

  • Working Hours = 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Monday through Friday
    • Some Saturday work may be permitted, but only when necessary due to time-sensitive work, like concrete pours, that could delay critical project items.
  • Travel Restrictions
    • Single-lane reductions in multiple locations
      • Some will be daytime only and controlled by a flagger, but some will be in place 24/7 and controlled by a traffic light
    • FULL Road closures when absolutely necessary
    • No parking on the roadway
    • Pedestrians will be allowed on the road, but will have the same restrictions as motor vehicles.
